Privacy policy

FairPlay (fairplayapp.coach) helps volunteer youth coaches plan fair playing time. It’s run by Matt McKillen, a sole proprietor in the US. FairPlay is for adults: coaches and the assistants they invite.

Your account: name, email and password (stored only as a scrambled hash). Your team: schedule, scores, settings, and the names and emails of assistant coaches you invite. Your players: what you enter to plan lineups, such as names, jersey numbers, positions, your skill ratings, availability, minutes and pitch counts. A little usage data: which features get used, your device type, and which ad or link brought you here.

If you import a roster or schedule from a photo or text, it’s read by an AI service (Anthropic) and we don’t keep the photo.

To run FairPlay for you and your staff, send the emails you need (sign-up, password resets, invites), fix problems, and see which of our ads work. That’s it.

Supabase (database and login), Vercel (hosting and page counts), Anthropic (photo imports), Resend (email), Amplitude (app screen recordings, with typing and players’ names blanked out), GitHub (backups), and Google and Meta (ad measurement). We don’t sell your information.

We use sign-in cookies to keep you logged in. On our website and sign-up page only (never inside the app), Google and Meta tags tell us when a visit or sign-up came from an ad; at sign-up your email is scrambled (hashed) in your browser before it’s sent to them. They may use this to show you FairPlay ads elsewhere. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we don’t load these tags at all. You can also block them with your browser’s settings or a content blocker, or change your ad settings with Google and Meta.

Kids don’t use FairPlay or have accounts. Their information is entered by their coach, used only to run that team, never sold and never used for ads, and kept out of our analytics. Parents: ask your coach, or email hello@fairplayapp.coach, and we’ll delete your child’s information.

We keep your data while your account is open so your season history is there. To delete your account, a team or a player, email hello@fairplayapp.coach from your account’s address. We’ll delete it within 30 days, and backups clear 30 days after that. You can also ask what we hold about you or have it corrected.
